Post # 81 - The Future of Media

I think the new 3d technology will probably have the most influence. A tv that is 3d sounds like something I would like to get someday. Also, I would like to try playing video games in 3d. Gaming would be even better in 3d as long as it doesn't take away from the stunning graphics that most games have. I rarely keep up with new technology so there is not one that I have been following.

I am not an early adapter of every new gadget. My favorite new gadget is my mp3 player.

I have watched movies on my computer but I prefer to watch movies on my tv. It is much more comfortable to sit in the recliner in front of the tv than in front of the computer.

I was able to use the IMDB website to watch a movie trailer. Occasionally I use the Yahoo Movies website to watch trailers but I don't usually keep up with upcoming movies.

I don't think I would ever use a fee-based service to get movies. Most of the movies I watch I get from the library. I use Redbox for the movies we don't have here at the library.

I checked out Hulu.com and Tv.com and found that my favorite show, Lost, is available on these sites. The full episodes are available as are clips from the show. Hulu.com has all of the six seasons available to watch. Tv.com has only the latest season available.

I have never watched a tv show on my cell phone. I am not interested in doing this because the screen is so small on my phone. I would much rather watch tv on a big screen.

There are no streaming programs or user channels that I watch. I have never posted videos to a site.

Both of my dogs have profiles on Dogster.com. The registration process was easy and the website has many great features. This website has everything; you can look up information on dog breeds, there are blogs and forums, dog photos, and local community information.

I searched the web for pet loss and came across some websites that I think would be helpful to pet owners. One of them is www.petloss.com, this website has message boards, a chat room, and the Monday Pet Loss Candle Ceremony. Another website, www.aplb.org The Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement, has links to information on pet loss, and you can post a memorial. I'm not sure if these are well known organizations. I would recommend these websites to others because they seem to be very informational and supportive.

Post # 72 Pet Health Online

According to DogAge my dog Sasha who is 6 years old is 33 years old in people years. She is 8.2 years younger than the average DogAge for her breed. I learned that since she is over 6 years old I should take her to the vet twice a year instead of only once a year.

I took the pet picker quiz and it said a cat would be right for me. I don't think my dogs would be very happy with me if I got a cat. I tried Petfinder and Pet Harbor to search for adoptable pets and found both of these websites to be a great resource. I will definitely use one of these websites the next time I am looking for a pet.
