I love the Arcade Retro website. It has all my favorite old arcade games. Since I have played these games since I was younger I think it is easier for me to play them than people who have never played a video game.

The Wii is probably the best system for the library since most of the games are kid friendly. I think gaming aids in learning, because most of the games require a lot of thinking and good hand-eye coordination.

I'm sure a lot of gamers will come to the library just for the games, but I'm sure a few will come for the games and end up staying for the books.

I read all of the articles. I played I'll Get It which I enjoyed playing but I wasn't very good at it. I also played Within Range, this one I didn't like very much.

Gaming does belong in the library. More kids and teens will be drawn to the library to play the video games and they might end up checking out a book to read while they are here. I think it's great that we are going to have gaming events for the teens.

I played the tutorial in Runescape and it was very easy to learn how to play the game. I didn't really like Runescape. I would rather play a shooter or racing game instead of a rpg.

Post 35: Games and Gaming

I played FreeRice and Sudoku from the Houston Chronicle website. FreeRice is a fun way to learn some new words and definitions. I also tried some of the games from the FunBrain website. These are great educational games for kids.

Post 30 Spring Cleaning

About a month ago I cleaned up my documents on the P: and Z: drives so for this exercise I checked it over again and had nothing else to clean up. I did have some personal photos on my Z: drive so I got rid of those. I've never saved anything to the S: drive so I didn't have anything to do there.

In my work email I recently created a few folders to organize my emails. I have cleaned up my email account. In the future I plan to be more diligent in cleaning out my emails.

I tried using the google calendar. I already use a calendar that I carry with me everywhere and I write everything down in it that I need to do. Also, I write notes to myself on scraps of paper that I later compile into a list.
