Week 10: Post 23

This was a great training program. I have learned about so many things that I never knew existed. Flickr, image generators, photo editing tools, and animoto were the exercises I enjoyed the most. I think I will try to keep up with the new technology a little more.

Week 9: Post 22

I didn't see much difference between the free sites and the library's site. There are no audio books that I would like to check out because I like to read a book not listen to it. I didn't realize we had videos on overdrive. I saw a video that I will be checking out sometime soon.

Week 9: Post 21

I couldn't find a podcast that really interested me. I did add one to my bloglines about gaming. There were a lot of library related podcasts that I found. This is one thing that I will probably never look at again.

Week 9: Post 20

I enjoyed watching the youtube videos. There are so many of them, I could spend all day looking at it.

Week 8: Post 19

I think Zoho Writer would be useful for some things. If you needed to be able to get to your document from the web or, if you don't have access to Microsoft Word. I don't think I would ever use this but it's good to know that it's out there if I ever did need it.

Week 8: Post 18

I have been using Myspace and Dogster so I looked at some of the other social networking sites. It's overwhelming how many are out there. Some of them I liked and will try them out when I find the time.

Week 7: Post 17

Technology is great. I love my digital camera and I'm hooked on photo editing. I have really enjoyed using all the online photo editing tools that I never knew existed. Technology is really moving fast. Usually, it's too fast for me to catch up with.

Week 7: Post 16

I liked using the wiki's. It's an easy way to share and find information. I've used wikipedia many times and I like it. This would be a good starting point for research but any information would have to be verified through another source. I added some information to the ihcpl wiki.

Week 6: Post 15

I read all of the articles on Library 2.0. I agree that libraries need their services on the web so that patrons that can't make it in the library can get to some of the things they need.

Week 6: Post 14

I enjoyed watching some of the top videos on Technorati. None of the popular searches would be anything I would search for.

Week 6: Post 13

I think Del.icio.us is great. It is a good way to get to your bookmarks from anywhere and it would be a useful research tool. I will be making my own Del.icio.us account when I have time to work on it.

Week 5: Post 12

I think library elf would be good for anyone who has multiple library cards. It has everything you need to know in an easy to read format. When you click on a due date it takes you straight to that library's webpage so you can log in and renew your item. I also liked the calendar at the top of the page that shows when your holds expire and when your books are due.

Week 5: Post 11

Library thing was easy to use. It was interesting to see what suggestions it gave me for other books to read and the ones not to read. In my sidebar is a link to my LibraryThing catalog.

Week 5: Post 10

I used Framer from the FDToys website to make this.

Week 4: Post 9

I tried all the search tools and I liked Technorati and Topix, they were easy to use. I didn't like using Syndic8. I found some feeds to topics that interest me and I subscribed to them.

Week 4: Post 8

Setting up my bloglines account and subscribing to some feeds wasn't very difficult.

Week 3: Post 6

I tried out the Flickr Color Selectr and I thought it was really neat. I also tried some other mashups and they were interesting. I could have spent a lot more time on this. I'm not sure how useful any of this would be to me, but it was fun to play around with.

My Learning Styles

I learn best by seeing something done and then trying it out myself.

The biggest challenge for me will be finding the time to work on this.

My Dogs!!

My first blog

I am starting my 23 things and this is my first blog. This will be interesting to learn some new things I have heard about but never tried before.
